Gas Based Fire Suppression System

 Novec Flooding System: Novec 1230, C6F12O, (3M Novec 1230) fluid is an environmentally friendly for use as a gaseous fire suppression agent. It is generally used in situations where water from a fire sprinkler would damage expensive equipment or where water-based fire protection is impractical, such as Museums, Critical Room  Server room and Data Centre.Novec 1230 fluid is a high molecular weight material, compared with the first generation halocarbon clean agents. The product has a heat of vaporization of 88.1 kJ/kga and low vapor pressure. Although it is a liquid at room temperature it gasifies immediately after being discharged in a total flooding system. Novec 1230 fluid does not deplete ozone (ODP 0). Chemically, it is a fluorinated ketone with the systematic name 1,1,1,2,2,4,5,5,5-nonafluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-3-pentanone and the structural formula CF3CF2C(=O)CF(CF3)2, a fully fluorinated analog of ethyl isopropyl ketone.

Inergen Flooding System: Inergen agent is a mixture of three inert gases (52% Nitrogen, 42% Argon & 8% Carbon Dioxide).  It extinguishes fire by lowering the oxygen content 15% below the level that supports combustion.  During the discharge of Inergen in an enclosed area, it introduces the proper mixture of gas that still allows a person to breathe in a reduced oxygen atmosphere protecting such as computer / server / data room, telecommunication / switch gear room, process equipment, museums, etc.

Inergen exhibits no ozone depleting potentials, it does not contribute to global warming, nor does it contribute unique chemical species with extended atmospheric lifetime. It is certified as a “Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing System” Inergen Agent system storage pressure 150 / 200 bar is discharged in a hazardous area through the distributed network of manifolds, pipes, orifices plate and at nozzle with the pressure available minimum of 25 bar.

FM-200 Flooding System: FM-200 (Heptafluoropropane) chemical gas, it physically cools the fire at the molecular level, below 1400ºF, where fire cannot exist and combustion reaction cannot last. FM-200 avoids extensive fire damage at initial stage virtually avoiding damage to sophisticated and valuable instruments. It is non-corrosive agent, it does not residue and it protects against the thermal shock to electronic components which could occur due to direct discharge.FM-200 is zero ozone depleting potential, generally recommended with no adverse effect on human being in a occupied area eg: computer / server room, telecommunication / switch gear room, process equipment, museums, etc., FM-200 storage pressure 42 bar (high) / 25 bar (low) is discharged in a hazardous area through distributed pipes & nozzle and the pressure at the nozzle tip is maintained at approximately 10 bar during the discharge – against the pressure of 4 bar for low pressure system.

 

Carbon Di Oxide Flooding System: Is a fixed system to extinguish fire by smothering action with CO2.  It is a most effective system applicable when the hazard is totally enclosed in an unmanned area, protecting such as machinery spaces, paint stores, industrial ovens, flammable liquid storage, electrical zone, circuit breaker room, etc., CO2 Fire Extinguishing agent is non-corrosive and cause no chemical reaction on metals, electrical insulations and oil, nor a mechanical damage to applied surfaces. CO2 does not deteriorate with age and can therefore be stored for an indefinite time.  CO2 leaves no residue to be cleaned up after extinguishment of fire and the equipment which has not been damaged by fire can be re-used at once. The CO2 gas stored in one or more cylinder is couriered with per-determined amount discharge through fixed piping and nozzle into an enclosed space with a concentration maintained for a sufficient period of time to allow the fuel and any other surface in contact of fuel to cool below the ignition temperature of the combustible as well as displacing the oxygen ensuring that fresh air is not allowed to interfere during the process of discharge.  The CO2 System can be linked to a Fire Alarm Detection System for its automatic operation.

Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide Flooding System: is a Low Pressure Storage, with  single insulated pressure vessel is filled to over 90% of its volume with liquid carbon dioxide and maintained at approximately 20bars, and -20º, by refrigeration. In the Low Pressure System, a central bulk unit normally serves to protect various hazards spread throughout the facility, this unit is available up to 60 tons capacity which can be maintained with an Hazard distances of 150 Mtr. or more can be accommodated but, wherever possible, the units are located near the hazard, or centrally to a group of hazards.The refrigeration of the Low Pressure storage units is accomplished by a commercial grade compressor, and refrigeration coil within the vessel near the top, Its only function is to maintain the pressure 18 to 23 bars.  Failure of this refrigeration will cause the pressure to rise slowly. An alarm system is available to alert personnel to abnormal pressure levels and, if no repairs are made within a reasonable time, the unit will refrigerate itself by bleeding off vapor. Loss rates for this self refrigeration are very low. 

Low pressure CO2 System is economic, low maintenance, easy modification, reserve capability, space saving, high flow, easy refilling, greater versatility, greater effective in local application and hand hose line system.
